Already Entrapped in Online Loans? Here Are Tips So You Can Get Out Of The Cruelty Of Pinjol!

Already Entrapped in Online Loans? Here Are Tips So You Can Get Out Of The Cruelty Of Pinjol!

Currently, illegal online loans (borrowing) continue to mushroom unstoppably. Indeed, the government has started to move and try to stop this loan, and continues to try to remind the public not to get caught in this illegal loan. Unfortunately, there are still many people who don't care and make illegal borrowing continue to mushroom because of the many requests from our own community.

In fact, there have been many cases of victims of illegal lending that have proven to be detrimental to society in the end. On this basis, the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and the Ministry of Communications and Informatics cooperate under the Investment Alert Task Force (SWI) to routinely block illegal lending websites and applications.

The problem is, the level of financial literacy in our society is still low. Even though the government has tried to eradicate illegal lending, because the demand from the community is still high, in the end, illegal lending still exists until now.

In addition, according to people who do not know, the existence of illegal borrowing is a solution for them when they need cash. Unfortunately, they do not understand how cruel the illegal lending system is: from very high interest rates, very short tenors, to a billing system that becomes terror.

Then if you have already taken a loan, what should we do to get out of this debt bondage?

1. Report to SWI via email waspadainvestasi@ojk.go.id about the loan, tell me in full so that it can be blocked immediately

2. If you have difficulty paying the debt, apply for restructuring in the form of reduced interest, extension of the term, elimination of fines, or other policies. The hope, hopefully with that you can more easily pay off the debt without burdening you further.

3. If it's due and you still can't afford to pay, then don't use the concept of 'dig a hole and cover the hole'. Don't try to find a new loan from another platform just to pay off an existing debt, because that won't solve your problem at all.

4. If the party has been billed excessively (using terror, intimidation, or harassment), then:

  • Block all contacts who send terror messages, both from social media and phone numbers.

  • Notify all contacts, relatives and friends if they receive a message from the borrower; please block immediately. If necessary, tell them what it is. Do not remain silent, because they are afraid that the terror will continue to disturb them, even though they have done nothing wrong.

  • Immediately report to the police, and attach the Police Report to the contact collectors who still appear, so that they are aware and will be easily followed up by the authorities.

5. Save expenses and pay off existing debts immediately. Don't spend money on things that are not too urgent, and pay off the debt first. Please immediately repay the debt so that it is paid off immediately.

6. Pray. As a Muslim, after doing your best, don't forget to pray to Allah to make it easier for you to pay your debts.

There are various prayer editors that we can use, one of which is:

اللَّهُمَّ اكْفِنِى بِحَلاَلِكَ عَنْ حَرَامِكَ وَأَغْنِنِى بِفَضْلِكَ عَمَّنْ سِوَاكَ

"O Allah, suffice me with lawful (wealth) and keep me from unlawful, and suffice me with Your bounty from depending on other than You"

Please pray to Allah to make it easy for all our affairs in this world and the hereafter, and so may Allah make it easy for us to pay off our debts.

7. Never try to borrow from an illegal loan again. If you've ever felt the evil of illegal borrowing, don't fall into another trap. Even if you are forced to owe, please go to the bank, or to the closest people you trust.

Those are some tips that you can try if you have been caught in an illegal loan. Also remind family, friends, and those closest to them so that they are not easily tempted by illegal borrowing and do not feel the same terror later.

Let's together eradicate the illegal lending that troubles our brothers and sisters!
