Does a Man Have to Be Established Financially?

Does a Man Have to Be Established Financially?

Well-Established as a Man

Becoming an ideal man is a dream for many men in the world. Being the ideal man means that he is attractive, well-behaved, hardworking, pious, and financially secure.

Unfortunately, the real ideal man population is small. Why so? Because indeed to be a real dream man requires a long struggle. The problem is, not all men want to take that path. "It's better to be a bad boy, after all, there will be a soulmate."

Being a dream man is not just about getting a mate. Being a real dream man means he is ready to achieve success in the world and the hereafter, even though the road is long and winding.

And as we mentioned above, one of the criteria for a true dream man is: financially secure. This time, we will both discuss this in more depth.

Why Should Men Be Established Financially?

There are many reasons why a man should be financially secure and become a real dream man, be the ideal head of the family. Among them:

1. Men are leaders

In SuAn-Nisaa'ssaa' verse 34, Allah mentions that men are Qawwam (Leaders) for women. What is meant by Qawwam here is: he must be able to set an example, lead, and educate his family.

According to Abu Ja'far Ath-Tabari in his interpretation, as a leader, a man must also be able to pay for the needs of his wife and children. So how do you want to support your family if you're not financially secure?

2. Men must be responsible

In a hadith, the Prophet mentioned that each of us is a leader, and every leader must be responsible for what he leads. It is also stated in the hadith that a man is the leader within the household. From this, we can conclude that a man must be responsible for his family.

As the head of the family, he is responsible for the welfare of his family. He is also responsible for the education of his children. He is responsible for the care of his wife. And all of that costs a lot of money.

3. Men must maintain authority

The authority of a man is formed from many things. A person can be said to be authoritative if he is smart in attitude, humble, good at managing emotions, does not give up easily, and is financially secure.

How can a man want to look authoritative, if he still depends on others for his own needs?

The meaning of the word established for a The word 'established' here is still too broad. Many people define the meaning of established differently.

Some people say that being established means that they have a steady income. Some think that being established means having a house, a car, and a lot of savings.

All of the above perceptions are valid, nothing is wrong. Being financially stable has a very broad meaning. For example, perhaps for city people, an employee with a salary of two million rupiahs cannot be said to be well-established. But for the villagers, he was very well established.

In my opinion, being financially secure is not just about a job or the value of the possessions he has. In KBBI, steady means steady, not shaky, which means that someone is said to be established if he is ready and steady, especially when he faces various financial matters one day.

For example a child of a conglomerate who has not worked, but he already has a house and a luxury car. Is it established? Probably not. Because he could get all his wealth from his parents, and when his parents are gone, he will be confused and find it difficult to survive.

On the other hand, a freelancer whose income is uncertain may be financially established. Because even though he does not have a steady income, he has sufficient savings, skills, and experience, which will be useful in critical times later.

So, does a man have to be established? However, a person's stability cannot be measured only by material things.

Therefore, start trying to become a financially secure dream man. And to achieve that, we must start the journey now. Start studying, start trying, start setting goals in life, and do useful things.

So, are you ready to be a man?
