The 2024 Presidential General Election will soon be held, marking an important moment in Indonesian democracy. The democratic party held every five years has once again become the main focus of the public. Several potential figures have emerged as presidential candidates in the 2024 elections, enriching the choices that the Indonesian people will face.
The presidential election cannot be separated from the presence of potential figures running for office. Each candidate has a different background, experience, and vision mission. The names of presidential candidates for the 2024 period have been proposed, creating a dynamic political landscape. 3 names have proposed themselves as Presidential Candidates for the 2024-2029 period.
The first pair is Anies Baswedan, a former Governor of DKI Jakarta with Muhaimin Iskandar, who is familiarly known as Cak Imin. The second pair is Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto who is paired with Gibran Rakabuming Raka, the son of current President Joko Widodo. The last pair is Ganjar Pranowo, the former Governor of Central Java who is partnering with the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs (Menkopolhukam), Mahfud MD.
The presidential and vice presidential candidates held a presidential candidate debate the other day and it was intense. Each presidential candidate presented their vision, mission, and programs, trying to convince the people that they are the right choice to lead this country.
In determining a presidential candidate, sometimes the background of the presidential candidate becomes a comparison for the community to determine the future leader of this country.
In addition to background, people are also curious about the wealth of each presidential candidate. Wealth is one of the requirements that must be reported through the State Organizer Wealth Report (LHKPN) from the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK).
The submission of the State Organizer's Wealth Report (LHKPN) by the six participants in the Presidential Election refers to the provisions listed in Article 21 paragraph (4) of the General Election Commission (KPU) Regulation Number 19/2023 concerning the Nomination of Participants in the General Election of President and Vice President.
