Getting to Know OJK's Financial Information Service System (SLIK): Definition, Functions, and How It Works

Getting to Know OJK's Financial Information Service System (SLIK): Definition, Functions, and How It Works

Financial information is important for businesses, companies, and financial institutions. To facilitate and provide access to accurate and reliable financial information, Indonesia's Financial Services Authority (OJK) has developed the Financial Information Service System (SLIK).

If we previously knew BI Checking or SID (Debtor Identification System), as of 1 January 2018, BI Checking and SID have changed to the Financial Information Service System or SLIK for short and are fully managed by OJK.

Definition of SLIK OJK

OJK's Financial Information Service System (SLIK) is a platform developed by OJK to collect, store and facilitate the exchange of financial information between financial institutions and OJK. SLIK OJK serves as a means to access the financial information of both individuals and companies in an integrated manner and provides better quality assessment and risk management of the financial industry.

Functions of SLIK OJK

Financial Data Recording

SLIK OJK is the central repository of financial data of companies operating in the financial sector. Through this system, financial institutions can upload financial reports regularly and accurately.
Monitoring and Supervision: OJK uses SLIK to monitor the performance of financial institutions, analyze risks and identify potential problems. This enables OJK to conduct more effective supervision of the financial industry.

Risk Assessment

OJK's SLIK also plays a role in the risk assessment of financial institutions. Using the data available in the system, OJK can better evaluate the risks of financial institutions and take appropriate preventive measures.

Reporting and Transparency

SLIK OJK facilitates financial reporting and transparency in the financial industry. Financial institutions can quickly produce financial reports and submit the necessary information to OJK.

How SLIK OJK Works

You need to understand several things before utilizing OJK's Idebku SLIK Service. Firstly, SLIK OJK is Free. SLIK OJK services are free of charge. Second, Fast. The whole process takes approximately 15 minutes. Third, it is better not to be represented. This is recommended so that personal data remains confidential. Lastly, Prepare Original Data Documents. For Individual Debtors, it is required to include a KTP for Indonesian Citizens (WNI) or a Passport for Foreign Citizens. For Business Entity Debtors, you can consist of original documents and photocopies of business entity identity and management identity.

After understanding this, there are two ways to utilize OJK's Idebku SLIK service

Offline:

a. SLIK applicant physically comes to the local OJK office.

b. Bring the SLIK Debtor Information application requirement documents as attached:
